WEEKEND CONFERENCE   Leave a comment

I spent a weekend at a conference across the road from this building.  It was an important event to seek better or perhaps broader recognition for a local aboriginal peoples.

Being the only foreigner present and with little English spoken I was a bit lost.  I hope it was a positive event.

Someone took my picture with the Tainan mayor nearby and it was published in a newspaper.  Such is the level of attention we foreigners are often shown.  It makes me feel indebted.

Yet when I speak about Taiwan to friends in Australia they just have not got a clue – some probably get confused with Thailand.
